Duties: | This position will be involved in every aspect of our operation including… § Staff management, training, and development § Implementing chemical/fertilizer/plant protectant plans § Operation and supervision of the Rainbird automated irrigation system and its components § Assist with labor, expense, and capital budget preparation as well as product purchasing and inventory for the department § Communicate regularly with departmental staff (superintendent, assistant superintendents, irrigation technician, spray technician, head mechanic, and assistant mechanic), club departments and management § Ensure accuracy of golf course setup, schedule agronomic practices and procedures, assess playing conditions and turf health | |
Salary: | $50,000 - $60,000+ salary, Depending on Experience | |

Comments: | The Stone Canyon Club is one of the most picturesque desert courses in the world. Tucked in the Tortolita Mountains with views of the Catalina Mountains, Stone Canyon provides a challenging championship golf course for our members and their guests. Stone Canyon was the host of The Match III: Champions for Change event last November won by Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley. We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled, and talented assistant superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate would have experience in chemical/fertilizer applications, irrigation management, and staff management. Our current Senior Assistant Superintendent has recently accepted a head superintendent position. We pride ourselves on preparing our assistants for the next step in their careers. This position will gain experience in budget preparation, chemical application scheduling, plant health enhancement, and communication with member committees, club departments, and ownership. | |
