Duties:
  • Applies pesticides and fertilizers utilizing proper technical methods   
  • Performs golf course maintenance activities utilizing proper technical methods
  • Working knowledge of irrigation systems including basic electrical, hydraulic, automatic valves, controllers and various pump systems.  To include monitoring/making daily computer adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect, repair and perform maintenance of irrigation system
  • Scout, monitor, and sample for pest, weed, and activity in:   turf grasses, lakes, ornamentals; report and document conditions 
  • Participates in and/or conducts company and/or department training meetings. Continuing Education
  • Clean maintenance area and equipment
  • Record applications and inventory of pesticides and fertilizers
  • Report any challenges to supervisor
  • Participate in the Hazcom program by maintaining correct MSDS information
  • In absence of Assistant Superintendent will assist Superintendent with scheduling and rotating of staff and equipment as needed to ensure daily work is completed.
  • Monitors the daily tasks of staff employees to see that they are accomplished correctly and by radio contact with supervisor or assistant. Makes adjustments to accomplish daily tasks in a timely manner.
  • Sets up the golf course each day by changing cups, tee markers, moving ropes, checking ball washers, etc.
  • Discusses crew performance, task accomplishment, things that need to be done and methods to do them with the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Monitors fairway, tees and greens conditions for irrigation, wear color or other irregularities is playing surfaces.

Salary:

$16.00 per hour

Requirements:

·         Must be able to operate GCM equipment.

·         Minimum 2 years. Spraying chemicals or applying fertilizers required.

·         At least 3 years golf course maintenance or related field or any combination required.

·         Irrigation Knowledge preferred.

·         One year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.

·         Valid Driver's License
