EMPLOYMENT REFERRAL SERVICE

Golf Course Superintendent Profile:

Edgewood Valley Country Club  ~ LaGrange, IL

The Club:

Edgewood Valley Country Club is acknowledged as one of the finest golf courses and country clubs in the Chicago area. The Club was founded in 1910 in La Grange, IL and moved to its current location in 1926. William Diddle, a prominent golf course designer during this era, laid out the original routing of the golf course. The membership has allocated significant time, effort and resources over the years to maintain the unique design features Mr. Diddle originally crafted.

The members of Edgewood Valley Country Club take great pride in their outstanding golf course and in providing the best golf experience possible. Edgewood Valley Country Club is a member of the United States Golf Association, the Western Golf Association, and the Chicago District Golf Association and has recently held numerous local, state and national qualifying tournaments.

The golf course renovation project by Architect Craig Schreiner that was completed in 2006 lengthened the course and raised the total number of bunkers to 104. The course plays longer than its yardage due to the well-bunkered and narrow fairways that wind through the tall oak trees on the property.  While long-hitters may have an opportunity to drive the ball over bunkers and around some of the doglegs, the key to golfing success at Edgewood Valley lies in a player’s proficiency around the greens. Placing your approach shot on the correct side of each hole and staying below the pin is the only way to navigate Edgewood’s small and fast greens.

The Opportunity:
