Duties:

•          Assists in planning, budgeting, laying- out, and supervising minor construction projects and course additions.

•          Plan and scheduling maintenance of golf - courses' equipment and employees to optimum efficiency.

•          Supervises the progress Golf Assistant Supervisors, repair and maintenance of all mechanical and motorized equipment use on the golf course.

•          Design/plan/ instructs equipment operators in the operation and care of mowing and other equipment.

•          Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps and in the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.

•          Assists the Superintendent in keeping records of annual maintenance activities including, but not limited to chemical and fertilizer applications as required by law.

•          Budget/plan/direct the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of motorized and mechanical equipment.

•          Maintain effective employee and public relations.

•          Assists Superintendent in irrigation, and lake transfer, systems/programs.

 

Salary:

$45,000 to $55,000 Depending On Experience

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years experience working on a golf course maintenance crew. Must be a certified pesticide applicator in the State of Arizona.  Must have a working knowledge of the following: Construction and maintenance of golf course tees, fairways and greens; seeding and maintenance of types of turf used on golf courses; planting, cultivating, pruning and caring for plants, shrubs and trees; characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and computerized watering and irrigation systems including wells, pumps and automatic controls.
