Course Name: | Town of Gilbert Parks & Recreation Department |
Duties: | Performs general and/or semi specialized maintenance work involving mowing, landscaping, irrigation and general maintenance of Town properties, parks, athletic fields, irrigation systems and related facilities. The Grounds Maintenance Worker also ensures that assigned equipment is in proper working order, inspected for damage and cleaned. Duties also include maintaining records and submitting various forms including work activity logs. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who displays interpersonal and communication skills needed to build positive working relationships with customers and co-workers, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. |
Salary: | $13.63 - $16.35 Hourly. |

Requirements: | High School diploma or GED and 6 months of experience and/or training in grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, equipment operation, and manual labor, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Ideal candidate will exhibit a working knowledge of irrigation system maintenance and repair. Practical experience maintaining commercial irrigation systems for areas such as sports fields, parks and golf courses is desirable but not required. Ideal candidates will be safety-conscience and manage time wisely. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the interpersonal and communication skills needed to build positive relationships with customers and co-workers, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This particular assignment may include weekends. |
