Duties: | Direct Report Relationship: Superintendent and Assistant SuperintendentFLSA Status: ExemptIndirect Reporting Relationship: Director of GolfPOSITION SUMMARYThe Irrigation Technician is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the irrigation system, for the golf course and common grounds, assuring the member/guest experience exceeds expectations. The Irrigation Technician is an integral part of the Maintenance Operation and functions as a key player on our team. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE v The Irrigation Technician directs the functions of, and assists the Assistant Irrigation Technicians. KEY RESPONSIBILITES v The Irrigation Technician will create a fun, motivational environment by leading by example. v The Irrigation Technician must coach the Assistant Technicians performance and develop him/her to become an Irrigation Technician. v Perform performance reviews for the Assistant Irrigation Technician. v Review operational challenges and encourage Assistant Technician to recommend solutions. v Identify and correct performance problems and complete repairs/adjustments to system components which include heads, valves, pumps, pipe, wire, tubes, fittings, pump house, computer operation system, filters, water enhancement system, fertigation, valve boxes, quick couplers, and controllers. v Maintain up-to-date as-built and databases. v Maintain daily, monthly, and annual records for water, fertigation, and water enhancement products usage. v Possess knowledge of departmental budget. v Be proactive in advising Assistant Superintendent of work schedule needs. v Consult with Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent on daily water requirements and set-up daily irrigation run times. This communication to be open minded. v Implement a thorough Preventative Maintenance program for all system components. v Be proactive in anticipating water requirements according to weather and plant needs. v Attend educational seminars to stay current with leading technology. v Create a shared vision among direct reports. Ø Must be willing to “roll-up” sleeves and dig in with staff to drive processes that support the business Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ø Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment where continuous improvement is expected Ø Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must. Knowledge / Skillsv 1-2 years-experience; High school diploma or equivalent. v Able to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of irrigation system components. v Must be self-motivated and able to supervise the duties of direct reports. v Ability to read, analyze, and interpret as-built, reports, plans, and regulatory documents. v Able to interact positively with the public and teammates. Salary: | $13.00 - $13.50 |

Requirements: | Should have at least 2 years-experience working with Golf Course irrigation or landscape irrigation |
