We currently have an Area Sales Manager position available for our Southwest region (Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Southern Nevada) in our Pro Products Division. Professional Products is a division of Simplot Agribusiness headquartered in Boise, Idaho. 

Duties:

  • Additional Key Activities: Resolves problems that have occurred in pricing, shipping or delivery. Performs administrative duties, preparing reports and developing budget inputs.
  • Performs public speaking at professional seminars and association gatherings. Participates in sales meetings, training sessions and seminars to stay abreast of current marketing and sales information and products.
  • Coordinating sales and marketing programs throughout their Turf grass territory.
  • Maintains contact and build relationships with distributors and their sales force through sales calls, email and telephone contact.
  • Positions Simplot products into marketplace through direct contact with end users (Golf course superintendents, Landscapers, Cities and Municipalities and Nurseries).
  • Developing sales plans, coordinating activities with other area managers.

Salary:

$85,000- $95,000 + Incentives Depending On Experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or university
  • Ten plus years related experience and/or training.
  • In depth knowledge of Simplot/BEST and or Apex products, as well as assigned area turfgrass and or nursery market.
  • Understanding of the complexity of distribution marketing.
  • Sales skills, organizational skills and the ability to delineate and share these with others.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Able to be self-motivated and work without direct supervision.
  • An advanced understanding of fertilizer sales and marketing functions.
  • Ability to communicate and work with other sales individuals.
  • The ability to develop relationships with key distributor personnel influencing sales of Best and or Apex Fertilizer.
