Duties:

Under direction of the Superintendent, performs the operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of manual, semi-automatic irrigation systems and drainage systems.

 

1.                 Checks system functioning per schedule.

2.                 Installs, maintains and repairs irrigation controllers, valves, QCVs, sprinkler heads, air relief valves, and other system components.

3.                 Performs supplemental or hand irrigation as required.

4.                 Installs and repairs irrigation control wiring or hydraulic tubing.

5.                 Operates and maintains pumps and pump controllers.

6.                 May act as lead person on special projects.

7.                 Levels heads, valve boxes, QCVs, drain boxes, etc. to grade.

8.                 Reports all problems to the Superintendent or supervisor.

9.                 Check system daily for leaks and proper performance.

10.            Inventories parts and supplies.

11.            Operates and maintains utility vehicles and powered equipment.

12.            Assists in reading water meters and documenting water use.

13.            Records changes in the routing or locating of irrigation system components on the working copy of the system as-build drawings.

14.            Controls weeds and insects inside irrigation controllers.

15.            Does other related work as required.

16.            Trains others in all the above

17.            Understands the game of golf

 

Salary:

Full-time hourly position. Competitive wages based on experience.
