Duties:

Key Responsibilities (Golf Maintenance):

• Coordinate/manage/train hourly staff on a daily basis

• Inspects golf course daily and notifies superintendent of issues/concerns

• Maintains irrigation inventories

• Responsible for ensuring the safety and direction of chemical/fertilizer handlers and/ or helpers.

• Reads, understands and keeps current up-to-date safety data sheets and labels.

• Ensures proper calibration of all spraying/fertilizing equipment.

• Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with governmental regulations.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

 • 2 or 4 year degree/certificate in Turfgrass Management or similar with previous golf course maintenance experience

• Ability to obtain and hold a State of Arizona Office of Pest Management Applicator License within 60 days.

• Must possess a strong work ethic and be highly motivated to advance in golf course management.

Physical Demands:

·        Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls.

·        Occasionally sits, climbs or balances.

·        Regularly talks or hears.

·        Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally may lift up to 100 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

·        Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions; with toxic or caustic materials; in extreme cold or heat; may experience vibration.

·        Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions.
