Description:
Oakcreek Country Club is a semi-private, home owner’s association owned 18`hole golf course located in The Village of Oak Creek, just outside Sedona, AZ. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr., the golf course elevation is 4,500 feet and it features bent/poa greens, tees, and fairways with blue/rye grass roughs. Rated as the #5 course in Arizona by Golf Advisor in 2024, and with stable ownership, this represents an excellent long term opportunity for an outstanding candidate.
Position Summary:
Lead on course personnel by supervising and providing agronomic direction to maintain the golf course at the highest quality possible for all season play.
Duties:
Apply agronomic, landscaping, and horticultural principles to assure that quality standards are consistently achieved and/or exceeded.
Lead and manage maintenance operations involved in providing maintenance of greens, fairways, tees, sand bunkers, bodies of water, roughs, maintenance shop, golf carts and clubhouse.
Responsible for the selection, training, assignment and assessment of maintenance staff, providing corrective action as needed; holding safety meetings to ensure the highest level of safety for all maintenance staff.
Develop, administer, and execute annual maintenance plan and budget for the course.
-track maintenance expenses including payroll, supplies, fertilizer, chemicals, etc.
-maintain maintenance records and develop required maintenance reports
-order parts, supplies and equipment as needed.
Requirements:
-Minimum 2-year Agronomy related degree required
-3+ years as a Golf Course Superintendent required
-Experience growing and maintaining cold weather/high elevation grasses required
-Possession of, or willingness to acquire, a Arizona Commercial Applicator License required
-Experience in 7b/8a hardiness zones preferred
-Diplomatic team player able to work closely with the head golf professional and foster relationships with Members, Employee Partners and Guests
-Strong attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills
