Position: 1st Assistant Superintendent
Course Name: Pinnacle Peak Country Club
Duties:
- Assists the Golf Course Superintendent in all record keeping of fertilizer and pesticide applications, irrigation applications, weather, and personnel records.
- Assists in strategic and operational planning for the maintenance of all playing surfaces on the golf course including greens, tees, fairways, rough, etc. Conducts basic turf maintenance duties as needed.
- Assists Agronomy team with in-house small project planning and execution.
- Assists in enhancing operations to improve the clubhouse grounds and other PPCC facilities.
- Assists with all plans, schedules, and monitors all daily operations via our labor management tool (Task Tracker) including staff scheduling.
- Assists in evaluating and managing employee safety training. Assists with conducting monthly safety meetings and monitors staff to ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn when required.
- Partners with equipment management team on mechanical requirements and care for all equipment.
- Assists in managing the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation system and drainage.
- Participate in leadership meetings and green committee meetings with the Director of Agronomy. Communicate in a professional manner to all membership and staff.
- Continues educational development via online/in-person seminars with Cactus and Pine and GCSAA.
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Agronomy and Golf Course Superintendent.

Qualifications:
- Two (2) or Four (4) year degree in turf management, horticulture, agronomy, or similar fields.
- Prior experience as an assistant, foreman, or supervisor a plus, but not necessary with formal education.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Pesticide license or ability to obtain. PUG & OPM.
- Knowledge of Toro Lynx Irrigation.
- Knowledge of bentgrass greens management a plus.
- Strong computer and technology skills. Many of our daily operations run via cloud-based systems.

Comments: Pinnacle Peak C.C. is a private 18-hole-member owned equity club located in North Scottsdale. PPCC is a unique course with a tree lined/parkland style course, with bentgrass greens, and with also a touch of desert surroundings. We currently have a full membership with a waiting list for several years. PPCC is in a strong position for continued growth and success. PPCC is committed to continuing to invest in the course for continued sustainable success. PPCC has made significant investments in the past several years. Greens were re-built with 007 Bent grass (2016). Well Station #2 refurbished (2017) well station #1 refurbished (2022) Renovated club house (2018) New pump station (2019). Bunker complete redesign and renovation (2021) Replaced all equipment (2021). Lake and water feature renovation (2024). New maintenance facility (2024). We are also beginning to plan a practice facility renovation and clubhouse landscape renovation (2026).
