| Duties: | The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the overall maintenance, management, and daily operation of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This role ensures optimal playing conditions, oversees turf management programs, manages maintenance staff, and maintains all equipment and irrigation systems. The superintendent works closely with club management to uphold the highest standards of course quality, safety, and environmental stewardship. Key Responsibilities Course & Grounds Maintenance · Plan, implement, and supervise all turfgrass maintenance programs, including mowing, fertilization, pest control, aeration, and irrigation. · Maintain greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, practice areas, landscaping, and naturalized areas. · Monitor course conditions daily and make adjustments as needed to ensure high-quality playing surfaces. Irrigation & Water Management · Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. · Develop water usage plans and ensure efficient application aligned with environmental and regulatory guidelines. Staff Leadership · Hire, train, supervise, and schedule grounds crew and maintenance staff. · Ensure adherence to safety procedures and best practices. Budget & Administrative Duties · Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets. · Track expenditures, purchase supplies, and maintain accurate records for chemicals, equipment, and labor. · Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Equipment Management · Oversee maintenance, repair, and safe operation of all turf equipment and vehicles. · Ensure equipment is properly inventoried, serviced, and replaced as needed. · Must have the ability to perform maintenance and repairs on equipment. Environmental & Regulatory Compliance · Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding pesticide use, water management, and worker safety. · Implement environmentally responsible maintenance practices. Collaboration & Customer Service · Work closely with the General Manager, Golf Professionals, and other departments to support tournaments, events, and course improvements. |
| Salary: | · Compensation will be based on experience and references $80,000 - $90,000 per year |

| Requirements: | Qualifications · Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred. · 3–7 years of golf course maintenance experience, including supervisory responsibilities preferred. · Strong knowledge of fertilizer, chemical and herbicide applications required · Strong knowledge of turfgrass species, irrigation systems, pest/disease management, and equipment operation. · Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed. · Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Preferred Skills · Experience with modern irrigation control systems. · Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally friendly course management practices. · Experience preparing a course for tournaments or high-level play. |
