Duties:
The City of Peoria Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an Irrigation Technician for the Sports Complex, Neighborhood Parks and Community Parks. This is a full time, benefitted position that will provide irrigation repair, maintenance, and programming to parks across our city. If you are a hard worker that possesses extensive irrigation experience and love to contribute to a team atmosphere, this is an outstanding opportunity for you.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience:
§  Programming and operating computerized central control systems (experience with CalSense is preferred)
§  Understanding and adhering to objectives and goals to meet water budgets and restrictions
§  Maintaining irrigation supplies and equipment
§  Operating and maintaining irrigation motors and pumps
§  Performing regular and preventative maintenance on complex irrigation systems
§  Maintaining parks and open space, irrigation systems, turf, trees, and plants
Salary Range:
$23.45 – $27.91 per hour Depending On Experience

Requirements:
Minimum requirements:
·         Education: High School Diploma or equivalency.
·         Experience: 2-4 years of experience required in the same or similar previous positions (park or sports field experience is preferred but not required).
·         Licenses/Certifications:
o   A valid Arizona Driver's License upon hire.
o   The ability to obtain a backflow assembly certification within 6 months of hire.
o   The ability to obtain a Water Audit Certification within 12 months of hire.
Desired Qualifications:
·         Licenses/Certifications: Certified Irrigation Technician.
·         Municipal irrigation or landscape maintenance experience.
·         Possess considerable independent and professional judgement.
·         Be willing to work flexible schedules to meet the demands of the position.
