Duties:

Supervise the mowing, watering, and maintenance of golf courses and ensures golf course and employees are utilized with maximum efficiency. Supervises the planting, fertilization, and maintenance of turf. Is responsible for file records of annual maintenance activities, including but not limited to, chemical and fertilizer applications as required by law.
Additional standards include an ability to maintain tees, fairways, greens and appurtenances to the highest standards of golf course play including major national championships. Plan, assign, and direct the work of others.
Maintains effective employee and public relations. Plan and/supervise, Lake transfer systems, and irrigation programs. Manages the golf course(s) in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Will participate in the motivating, disciplining, promoting and discharging of employees under general guidelines established by Desert Mountain Club.

Salary:

$41,000 to $45,000 Depending On Experience

Requirements:

Must possess a minimum two-year grass turf certificate in turf grass management from a recognized college or university or equivalent experience. Must be a certified pesticide applicator in the State of Arizona; must have thorough knowledge of the following: Maintenance of golf course tees, greens, and fairways; production and maintenance of the types of turf used on golf courses; planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs, and tees; characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and computerized watering and irrigation systems including wells, pumps and automatic controls.
