ERS POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reports To | General Manager or Director of Golf |
Position Purpose | Responsible for ensuring the overall quality and playability of the golf course(s), assuring that it is maintained within budgetary guidelines and promotes the O.B. Sports philosophy of excellence. |
General Description of Duties and Responsibilities: |
- Responsible for directly supervising the daily maintenance operations
- Communicate with the Head Golf Professional and/or Golf Shop Staff daily
- Responsible for performing a daily inspection tour of the golf course, walking each green if possible, and adjusting the work assignments as needed to take care of any details before the golfers play through. .
- Responsible for the hiring and training of all maintenance personnel, seeking to develop the most qualified, professional staff possible to benefit the overall success of the club.
- Perform bi-annual employee performance reviews and maintain an open line of communication with all employees including conducting regular staff meetings
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate records of all Fertilizer and Pesticide applications; Man-hours worked; etc; Capital expenditures; improvement project costs; etc.
- Prepare annual budget for golf course operations including detailed plans for future improvements to the golf course.
- Submit soil samples twice annually to determine fertility requirements.
- Maintain balanced and controlled inventories of fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation parts, etc.
- In collaboration with the Equipment Service Manager, generate equipment replacement scheduling. Keep abreast of current innovations in turf grass management.

Experience / Education / Certification Requirements: |
- College education or its equivalent.
- GCSAA status
- State pesticide applicators license.
- Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements: |
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist height.
- Frequent bending turning, kneeling and stooping
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Repetitive motion required including computer entry.
- Must be able to operate a golf cart and other turf management equipment in a safe manner
- Normal vision and hearing ranges required.
- Must be able to fluently speak and write the English language.
