Duties:	The city of Peoria is currently constructing Pioneer Community Park. This 85 acre park will include a 5 acre lake, 6 softball/baseball fields, 4 soccer fields and other amenities. This park is anticipated to open in fall 2013.  The purpose of this position is to install and maintain irrigation systems at Pioneer Community Park. This is accomplished by performing maintenance tasks including inspecting, auditing, diagnosing, and repairing irrigation systems. Other duties may include completing related tasks as assigned.
Salary:	$18.30-$24.61 hourly Depending On Experience

Requirements:	Qualified candidates possess high school graduation or equivalency and 2-4 years experience. Considerable previous experience is required in the same or similar previous positions. A valid AZ driver’s license is required upon hire. Backflow Assembly Certification is required within 6 months of hire. Water Audit certification is required within 12 months of hire.
Responsible to:	·      Inspects and repairs irrigation systems at City parks and facilities; makes repairs to irrigation systems including valves, rotors, sprinklers, backflow, and valve boxes. ·      Performs field tests on irrigation systems to determine efficiency, completes state required audits. Calculates accurate watering schedules for irrigation systems by combining plant water use, soils and local weather data. ·      Plans, designs, and installs new irrigation systems at City parks and facilities. ·      Monitors irrigation inventory levels and orders supplies as needed. ·      Performs turf maintenance functions; fertilizing turf renovation, aeration, top dressing and mowing ·      Performs related maintenance and landscaping duties as required ·      Makes recommendations to supervisor of repairs required beyond capabilities. ·      Assists in setting and scheduling irrigation system operations.
