Duties: | · Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment, purchase repair parts and supplies within budget guidelines unless otherwise directed by supervisor. · Inspect, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance equipment. · Keep detailed records of all maintenance performed and ensure warranty compliance. · Responsible for the grinding and sharpening of all mowing equipment. · Perform the general overhaul of mowers and reels. · Attends staff meetings. · Does machine or welding work in the repair for equipment · Working knowledge of light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus. Skilled in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools and in the making of various types of repairs. · Knowledge of the care and operation of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems and mowing equipment maintenance. · Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and schedule appropriate work. · May be required to operate golf course equipment and perform regular golf course maintenance duties. · May be required to assist in the maintenance of the golf cart fleet. · Prioritizes work and uses time efficiently. · Assists with calibration of spreaders and sprayers. · Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid injury to self and others. · Report all cases of injury, theft or loss immediately to the Superintendent. |
Salary: | $24,000.00 per year |

Requirements: | Position Concept: Under general supervision of the superintendent and the assistant superintendent makes major and minor mechanical repairs to a variety of gasoline and diesel power equipment. Keeps all equipment in efficient and operable condition at all times. Organizes and maintains a clean and safe work area and performs related tasks as required. Job Knowledge and Education · One year certificate from college or trade school or six to twelve months related experience. · Valid driver’s license required · Proof of auto insurance. Skills and Aptitudes · English Fluency required · Spanish preferred. · Organized and efficient. · May be called upon to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and deal with contract and abstract variables. · May be required to read and analyze technical procedures and manuals. · May be required to calculate volume. Proportions, percentages, area and circumference. Working Conditions · Regularly stands, walks, and sits. · Works both in and out of doors. · Regularly uses hands and fingers · Regularly may lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts more than 100 pounds. · May be vulnerable to errant golf balls. · Occasionally works in extreme cold and heat. · Works in areas near moving mechanical parts · May encounter risk of shock and vibrations · May work in wet an humid conditions · May come in to contact with fertilizers and toxic or caustic chemicals · Noise level is loud · May work in high or precarious places. |
