Grounds Irrigation Technician

Course Name:

Duties:

Maintains, repairs, and rebuilds all related components of an irrigation system.

Periodically inspects all components of the irrigation system to insure that the system is operating properly. Monitors system pressure, records pump readings, and services pump lubrication services. Monitors the effectiveness of individual sprinklers, troubleshoots, and overhauls irrigation system components. Oversees the irrigation of all Lawn Bowling greens through rigorous moisture content testing and application of appropriate amount of water between scheduled Lawn Bowling events. Determines and maintains adequate irrigation parts supply. Assists the grounds team with Lawn Bowl green maintenance work and performs other duties as assigned.

Salary:

$9.45 - $13.51 per hour

Requirements:

·        Prior irrigation system experience

·        Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position

·        Working knowledge of methods, practices, parts and supplies, and tools used in irrigation repair.

·        Working knowledge of basic wiring principles related to controllers, valves and booster pump systems.

·        Efficient water management skills.

·        Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor in a variety of weather and working conditions.

·        Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

·        Ability to work independently and be a self starter.

·        Possession of or ability to obtain a valid State of Arizona driver's license.
