Anthem Golf & Country Club is seeking a Regional Director of Agronomy. This position will serve as the golf course superintendent of Anthem, while simultaneously serving as a Regional Superintendent for the region. Regional responsibilities include the following: · Serve as a resource for Superintendents, General Managers and Regional Vice Presidents. · Assure property and company objectives are communicated and understood. · Participate in hiring, promotion, disciplinary and discharge process for superintendents in their region. · Develop sound agronomic plans with the superintendents. · Perform an average of 4 annual visits to each property. · Communicate with superintendents weekly. · Insure clubs are adhering to their maintenance standards and their financial plan. · Assist in capital project determination, budgets and execution. · Insure environmental compliance and reporting. · Monitor cart and equipment maintenance programs. Superintendent responsibilities include: This department head position is responsible for the successful operation of the Golf Course Maintenance Department and Clubhouse Grounds Maintenance. The includes providing agronomic direction to maintain the golf course at the highest quality possible at all times following company standards for the healthy growth of the golf course grasses, trees, wetlands, and other applicable plant materials. Programs for turf/grass, material and chemical maintenance and asset management are critical to the success of this role. This position prepares an annual budget and achieves these financial goals throughout the year, through proper forecasting, expense controls and labor management. The Superintendent works closely with the General Manager on capital improvement expansion projects, as well as interaction with the Head Golf Professional to maximize the number of rounds of golf played by scheduling maintenance practices around Member play and outings to maximize efficiency is essential. The Superintendent is responsible for hiring, training and developing all staff, including ensuring the staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions. Candidate must have a 2 or 4 year degree in turf management or related field. Candidate should have at least 5 years experience as a Director of Golf Course Maintenance. Prefer candidates with private club experience. Candidate must be able to possess a QAC within 90 days of employment. Ability to communicate with staff in Spanish is critical. The candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills, and should be able to effectively manage irrigation/water use. The candidate should also have excellent agronomic skills with greens management specific to the Desert area. The candidate must have the financial skills to work within an established budget, track expenses and forecast to the general manager. |
