Duties: | Essential Duties & Responsibilities: · Responsible for ensuring the golf course is in the best possible condition every day of the year. · Supervises and trains golf course maintenance staff. · Formulates and implements the maintenance and fertility programs. · Oversees all tasks related to daily course set-up. · Ensures all of the golf course equipment is operated safely, efficiently and as directed. · Supervises the operation of the irrigation system. · Supervises the maintenance of the irrigation system and all of the related components. · Coordinates with all golf related departments when planning and performing necessary course maintenance. · Communicates to the outside services staff and the golf shop staff of the daily set up of the course, of any restrictions on the course and when the course is ready for play. · Trains maintenance staff and provides direct supervision of all tasks related to golf course maintenance. · Makes management decisions concerning golf course maintenance staff and the golf course. · Supervises pesticide and fertilizer applications. · Performs evaluations, ensures employee safety and monitors personnel discipline. · Reviews and analyzes financial reports. · Oversees progress on any projects such as weeding and edging. · Formulates departmental rules and training systems. · Obeys all policies and procedures found within the Employee · Handbook and Golf Course Operational Manual. · Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required. · Performs other duties as required. |

Requirements: | Minimum Qualifications: Three years-experience in Golf Course Turf Maintenance. Must be 18 years of age. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen. Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications: Knowledge of materials, methods, practices and equipment used in Golf Course turf maintenance and activities. Knowledge of the principles and practices used in irrigation. Knowledge of occupational hazards, safe working practices, and safety precautions in accordance with applicable state, county, or federal laws and regulations regarding workplace safety. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels. Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment. Skill in providing leadership to, supervising, training, and evaluating assigned staff. Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations. |
