Tucson Country Club ~ Tucson, AZ

Employment Opportunity Description

Golf Course Superintendent

The Tucson Country Club is a member-owned, nationally acclaimed, iconic, country club located in the heart of Southern Arizona.  The Club features a championship 18-hole golf course that is one of the few “Grand Old Gems” left in the world of golf.  Poised in the middle of the Sonoran Desert, stately trees rise to heights of one hundred and thirty feet above the fairways.  This is Tucson Country Club’s tradition of pure golf with no compromise to development or urban sprawl.  It is a tradition that dates back to 1947, when course architect William Bell first singled out this magnificent property.  Today the club is owned by 415 Regular Members and is managed by a solid team of management professionals.  An elected Board of Directors that is led by the Club President and receives advice from the many volunteer Club Committees governs the club.

During its more than 60-year history, the Tucson Country Club has provided its members with 18 holes of exquisite championship golf. The noteworthy tournament history of this Club has featured 18 USGA Championship Qualifiers, 8 Arizona Amateurs, 1964 Western Amateur, 1982 USGA Senior Amateur and the 1992 USGA Senior Women’s Amateur. Tucson Country Club has not only hosted outstanding amateur events, but is also home to arguably one of the world’s finest amateur golfers, Dr. Edgar Updegraff.

The total membership at Tucson Country Club exceeds 700 families and represents a broad cross section of the Tucson population, from retirees to some of the most prominent business people in the area.  The Club strives to provide the finest private Club experience through exceptional services, facilities and amenities while achieving outstanding value for the Members.  And the Club’s vision is to be the premier and welcoming Member-owned Country Club in Tucson which preserves its historic place in the community. The clubhouse facility is a 44,000 square foot building that houses dining and meeting areas, a golf shop, locker rooms, a fitness center and much more.  Additional amenities in the club campus include a cart barn, world class tennis facility with 11 courts, and an extensive aquatics facility just to name a few.
