POSITION DESCRIPTION
City of Phoenix – Encanto Golf Course

Position: Irrigation Technician
Reports To: Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent
Position Purpose: To provide the supervision and technical support needed to keep the golf course irrigation system operating efficiently.
General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervise employees as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
· Inspect the pump station daily, including filter systems, ferti-gation systems or other injection systems.
· Perform bi-monthly preventative maintenance checks of the satellite controllers.
· Repair and maintenance of all irrigation system components.
· Inspect entire golf course daily, listing any wet spots or dry spots
· Take water meter readings daily.
· Keep inventory records up to date.
· Keep the parts room clean and neat, and order irrigation parts as needed
· Project a professional image at all times.
Experience / Education / Certification Requirements:
· High School education or its equivalent.
· Must have valid driver's license.
· Must have knowledge of irrigation repair.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist height.
· Frequent bending turning, kneeling and stooping
· Exposure to hot and cold temperatures
· Must be able to stand for extended periods.
· Must be able to operate gas powered golf equipment and maintenance equipment in a safe manner
· Normal vision and hearing ranges required.
· Must be able to fluently speak and write the English language.
