Requirements: | 1. DEFINITION: The position of Golf Course Maintenance Supervisor for a highly rated 9 hole executive golf course requires an individual with knowledge of proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; and irrigation systems, including wells, pumps and automatic controls. This position also requires a knowledge of agronomy, turf grass science and the rules of golf. The Golf Course Maintenance Supervisor is required to serve in the Maintenance Superintendent’s capacity during his/her absence. The Golf Course Maintenance Supervisor must have the ability to schedule and supervise the maintenance work of workers and equipment and maintain effective employee relations. 2. EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION: All work will be performed using Canyon Mesa’s equipment at Canyon Mesa Country Club. 3. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: a. Trimming of trees and shrubs; b. Mowing of greens, tees, fairways and roughs; c. Golf course greens aeration; d. Raking of and debris removal. Moderate lifting may be required from time to time; e. Tree removal; f. Irrigation repair and installation; g. Chemical spraying on the golf course – license required – willing to train; h. Identifying areas where improvement in needed; i. Bridge repair; j. Understanding of the game of golf; k. Other duties as assigned. 4. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: a. Leadership/supervisory skills; b. Irrigation timer operation; c. Irrigation wiring experience; d. Gas/diesel powered golf course equipment knowledge; e. Gas/diesel powered mower operation experience. |
