Duties:

Peoria's Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities Department is seeking a Parks and Sports Facility Worker to provide general maintenance and repair to City parks and sports facilities. This is accomplished by performing skilled and semi-skilled construction and maintenance to landscape, baseball fields, and turf. Depending on assignment, this position may require participation on a rotation schedule for on-call, after-hours support, which includes evenings, holidays, and weekends. Other duties may include completing related tasks as assigned.

Salary:

$17.68 per hour

Requirements:

Minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Working knowledge of common and uncommon techniques, methods, practices, procedures in the maintenance of city park related assets
  • 1-2 years of experience required in the same or similar previous positions
  • Valid AZ driver’s license
  • Pesticide/Herbicide applicators license required within 6 months of hire

Additionally, our ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, safety conscious, punctual team player with a high work ethic. Someone that understands that they will be hired to perform a full time job that is schedule and work order driven. You will need to be comfortable and able to execute your essential functions in high traffic public use areas. Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work both individually and with a team, while understanding that while maintenance and repair will be their main focus, there will be times where it is necessary to act cross-functionally when the Division's workload demands.
