Duties: | The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to the preparation of baseball fields and turf maintenance. This is accomplished by assisting higher-level maintenance staff with the preparation and maintenance of baseball fields and related facilities. This position acts as a liaison to event promoters and team representatives in the absence of a Lead Parks & Sports Facilities Maintenance Worker or Coordinator. Essential Functions: · Prepares and maintains baseball fields, and related facilities utilizing a variety of hand and power tools. · Assists with screen repairs and hauling materials. · Assists with the application of drying materials and tarp pulling on fields during inclement weather. · Implements, enforces and practices proper safety standards to ensure the safety of coworkers, spectators, patrons and team personnel. · Opens, closes and secures facilities as instructed; reports unlawful acts and/or dangerous activities to the Police Department. · Exercises the necessary supervision of personnel to meet the needs of an activity, event or program with minimal direction. · Communicates with patrons, volunteers, vendors, concessionaires, and public safety and team personnel as required. Liaison to Crew Leader and Supervisor for event related activities and issues. |

Requirements: | MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(s) · No previous related experience required. · Education: High school diploma or equivalent · Other Requirement: Valid AZ Driver’s License upon hire · Preferred/Desirable Qualifications: None Additionally, our ideal candidate will be a safety conscious, punctual team player with a high work ethic. You will need to be comfortable and able to execute your essential functions in high traffic, public use areas. Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work both individually and with a team, while understanding that while field and turf maintenance will be their main focus, there will be times where it is necessary to act cross-functionally when the Division's workload demands. |
