Golf Course Assistant Superintendent

Duties:

  • Assists and supports in the planning and supervising of golf course maintenance operations
  • Train staff and promote proper operation and care of all turf maintenance equipment and tools
  • Perform irrigation scheduling inspections, repair and adjustment
  • Supervises all maintenance staff members, performs annual reviews, and provide employee discipline as required by the personnel management policies of the facility
  • Assist in the establishment of maintenance budgets and capital needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Agronomy
  • Maintain and promote a safe workplace inside and outside the maintenance facility
  • Willingness and flexible to meet demands of the position. Nights, Weekends and Holidays are often required based on facility needs

Salary:

Commensurate with Experience

Requirements:

  • Must be a self-motivated, team player and excited to contribute in a private golf club setting
  • High School graduate or GED. Degree in turf management a plus or working towards obtaining
  • Possess a valid AZ Driver’s License
  • Requires a current Arizona Applicators license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Ability to move heavy objects and lift up to 50 lbs. Position may require long periods of physical endurance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and keep maintenance records
  • Respectful communication and working relationships with staff, managers, and the membership
  • Minimum 1-3 years previous experience at a golf facility
  • Able to work under pressure and adjust to current maintenance needs
