Position: | Golf Course Assistant Superintendent |
Facility: | Briarwood Country Club |
Duties: | - Assists and supports in the planning and supervising of golf course maintenance operations
- Train staff and promote proper operation and care of all turf maintenance equipment and tools
- Perform irrigation scheduling inspections, repair and adjustment
- Supervises all maintenance staff members, performs annual reviews, and provide employee discipline as required by the personnel management policies of the facility
- Assist in the establishment of maintenance budgets and capital needs
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Agronomy
- Maintain and promote a safe workplace inside and outside the maintenance facility
- Willingness and flexible to meet demands of the position. Nights, Weekends and Holidays are often required based on facility needs

Requirements: | - Must be a self-motivated, team player and excited to contribute in a private golf club setting
- High School graduate or GED. Degree in turf management a plus or working towards obtaining
- Possess a valid AZ Driver’s License
- Requires a current Arizona Applicators license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Ability to move heavy objects and lift up to 50 lbs. Position may require long periods of physical endurance
- Ability to communicate effectively and keep maintenance records
- Respectful communication and working relationships with staff, managers, and the membership
- Minimum 1-3 years previous experience at a golf facility
- Able to work under pressure and adjust to current maintenance needs
