Duties:

The Lead Maintenance Mechanic is a member of the Golf Course Maintenance Team and maintains all golf course maintenance equipment, creating a foundation for team member safety and high quality.  This position takes primary direction from the Equipment Manager and/or Assistant Superintendent, and coaches operators on safe and proper use of equipment.

Requirements:

·         High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

·         Two to three years’ experience as an Operator 3, or related experience.

·         Demonstrate knowledge of equipment, repairs needed, and maintenance required through references and work history.

·         Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

·         Enjoys the game of golf and understands the need for attention to quality in daily maintenance to create optimal playing conditions.

·         Certificates, as required.

·         Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel preferred.

·         Ability to read, analyze, and interpret schematics, reports, plans, labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), technical manuals, and regulatory documents.

·         Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

·         Must possess basic computational ability.

·         Excellent verbal communication skills.  Excellent customer service skills in dealing with team members and the public. 

·         Must be able to lead by example by taking a proactive position to all issues concerning maintenance and the maintenance staff.

·         Must demonstrate initiative—ability to think, work, solve problems, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.

·         Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and meeting timeliness is a must.

·         Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.

·         This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekend, with limited local travel.

·         Valid driver’s license required.
