Duties:

·         Manage, train, motivate and work intimately with a crew of up to 14 workers overseeing all aspects of the landscape of the golf course including pruning, plantings, removals, cleaning, pesticide applications, etc.

·        Implement landscape design changes and upgrades.

·        Service, maintain, and program a variety of irrigation systems.

·        Help to hire, on-board, train and develop staff.

·        Develop detailed annual plans of plant maintenance.

Salary:

$65,000 to $90,000 Depending on experience

Requirements:

·        Prefer 5+ years of management experience in a horticultural related job.

·        ISA Certified Arborist Preferred

·        Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Horticulture or related field is preferred, but not required.

·        CA Pesticide Applicator Certificate or License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

·        Experience working with desert plant/tree material and its required care.

·        Strong knowledge of landscape design.

The Quarry at La Quinta is currently seeking candidates for the Horticulturist/Landscape Manager position. Looking for an individual that takes ownership, with a passion in horticulture and landscape design to play a pivotal role in revitalizing The Quarry’s extensive desert landscape on the golf course.

 

The Quarry at La Quinta is a paradise for the golf purist. Designed by course architect Tom Fazio, The Quarry prides itself on being the only course in the Coachella Valley on Golf Digest’s “America’s Top 100 Greatest Courses,” currently ranked #85. The Quarry has been ranked on Golf Digest’s list since its first rating in 1996 and has consistently been ranked in the top 10 in the country in course conditioning. In 2003 the Quarry added an additional 10-Hole Short Course. The Short Course has a distinctive feeling. The strength and character of the Championship Course carry over. Recently ranked by GOLF Magazine as one of the top 25 Par - 3 courses in the World. The Quarry is a true golf club with an emphasis on pure golf.
