Position: | Golf Course Superintendent |
Facility: | Quail Creek, 27 holes in Green Valley, AZ. Mini Verde Greens with Tifftuff fairways and surrounds. |
Duties: | The Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining the grounds year round • Creates positive relationship with residents, board members, greens committee and Quail Creek Members Responsible for maintaining an aesthetically pleasing and functional property •Responsible for insecticides, chemical sprays, fertilizers, and mulches to optimize condition of greenery •Oversees grounds maintenance of the Quail Creek Golf Course •Responsible for the irrigation installation, repairs, and the overall operation of irrigation systems •Develops and executes grounds facility/maintenance Policies & Procedures •Installs and repairs course fixtures, such as tee markers and benches, and at times move holes on greens •Responsible for operating and maintains equipment •Responsible for keeping an inventory of grounds supplies & orders supplies and equipment as needed •Responsible for the groundskeeping budget & monitor expenditures •Preparing and follow an annual plan that operates within the specifications of the annual budget •Prepares the course for play in accordance with the rules of golf •Assists with recruiting, training, and implementing staff new staff members

Requirements: | •Extensive knowledge of golf course water management, irrigation, landscaping techniques and processes • Preferred 5- years as Head Greenskeeper •Knowledge of pesticide, fertilizer, seeding and proper application methods •A working knowledge of the construction, establishment, and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers •Excellent time management skills •Excellent verbal and communication skills •Computer skills: emails, Microsoft Office, and excel •Must be able to work indoors/outdoors, in extreme weather conditions as needed •Current valid Driver's license •Certified and /or licensed for pesticide usage • Preferred Bachelors in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or related field •Experience in coordinating, scheduling, planning, prioritizing multiple projects in a limited time frame
