CACTUS & PINE, GCSA EMPLOYMENT REFERRAL SERVICE Date: November 21st, 2013 Position: Golf Course Superintendent Course Name: Western Skies Golf Club Duties: ·         Plans, organizes and directs the maintenance and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways roughs, and water features. ·         Supervised the planting and cultural practices involved in growing turf grasses, trees and ornamental plants. ·         Supervises the operation, repair and record keeping for all maintenance equipment. May also be asked to oversee the golf cart repair and maintenance. ·         Procures supplies and materials per budget. ·         Keep accurate records of annual maintenance activities and costs. ·         Prepare annual maintenance budget and agronomic plan that includes capital expense and equipment request. ·         Implement sound purchasing procedures using preferred vendors when possible. ·         Provides timely coding of invoices and other required documents. ·         Properly document all personnel and payroll transactions on a timely basis. ·         Implements and carry out all policies, government regulations, acquire proper licenses, and handle environmental issues. ·         Maintain a team atmosphere in within the maintenance department and with all other departments. ·         Operates equipment and machinery. ·         Hold regularly scheduled staff meetings. ·         Hold monthly safety meetings and document agenda and attendees ·         Attend staff meetings. ·         Coordinate snow removal. (depending on location) ·         Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with fir labor standards, safety and policy. ·         Maintains a clean and organized and safe maintenance facility. ·         Assures compliance with local, state, and federal law. ·         Assures proper handling and storage of all chemicals and fertilizers per label and law. ·         Maintains MSDS log ·         Maintains knowledge and compliance of all lease terms and contractual obligations. ·         Maintains active membership in professional organizations as approved by the President. ·         Make weekly golf course tour with the manager. ·         Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid injury to self and others. ·         Report all cases of injury, theft or loss immediately to the General Manager.   Salary: Up to $70,000 per year Depending On Experience Benefits: Health Benefits, Paid Vacation, Clothing Allowance, 100% meals Requirements: ·        AA from a two year college, University or Technical school ·        Minimum (2) Two years related experience as a Superintendent ·        Experience with over seeding & strong irrigation knowledge   ·        Prior P and L experience preferred ·        Valid driver's license required ·        Proof of auto insurance.   Responsible to: General Manager E-mail Resume to: sjacques@cbonsgolfgroup.com   Available: ASAP Application  Deadline: Open Until Position is Filled Comments:     Cactus & Pine, GCSA Carmella Ruggiero Executive Director 10685 N. 69th Street Scottsdale, AZ 85254 480-609-6778 480-348-5976    480-600-3786 carmella@cactusandpine.com   www.cactusandpine.org
