Duties: Description: | Leadership and Daily Operations: • Assist with daily planning and supervision of crew assignments • Train, mentor and lead team members to ensure high-quality work and safe operations • Support course set up, mowing, detail work, and execution of agronomic practices Water Management and Irrigation: • Monitor and manage course moisture levels using meters, weather data, and hand watering • Assist in troubleshooting and operating Toro Lynx irrigation systems • Coordinate closely with the irrigation technicians to maintain consistent system performance Agronomy and Turf Health: • Obtain Arizona Pesticide Applicators License within first 90 days • Look out for turf issues and contribute to pest and disease management strategies • Apply fertilizer and pesticide treatments using Toro sprayers and spray hawk Facility and Equipment Oversight: • Ensure proper use and maintenance of turf equipment and tools • Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional maintenance facility • Count and go over inventory with superintendent each month/organize chemical and seed rooms The primary function of the Assistant Superintendent is to be an extension of the Director of Agronomy at Seven Canyons Agronomy. You will work alongside the golf course superintendent and assistant to provide the highest quality playing surfaces achievable. The assistant position comes with many responsibilities that will help to advance your career and provide a comprehensive working knowledge of golf course maintenance. You will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance including but not limited to: all equipment operation, mowing, topdressing, fertilizer and chemical calibration, fertilizer and chemical applications, drainage projects, sod projects, aerification projects, irrigation troubleshooting and scheduling, hand-watering, verticutting and small project management. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and possess the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. |
Salary: | $66,000 - $71,000 Dependent upon Candidate's Qualifications |
